Miles from Ordinary -- Carol Lynch William
Lacey is really hoping for an ordinary summer. She has a job at the library and her mom has a job at Winn Dixie. There's hope. Momma seems to be doing better.
They both get on the bus and go to work. After four hours, Lacey heads back to Winn Dixie to pick up mom. Only, she's not there. Panic sets in. The manager said that mom left after an hour. Lacey rushes home to find her. All the lights are on in the house, but Momma doesn't seem to be around.
