Nora's father has left Mexico for the United States to find work. He lands in Houston, Texas.After eight weeks, the money and the notes stop coming.
Nora and her mother pack up and travel to find him. They hide in pallets on a fruit truck to cross the border. They arrive in Houston not having an address for her father because he has to move around.
They get fake work papers and work at a food cart. Nora secretly hopes that her father will stop by the cart someday.
