130 -- Anya's Ghost

Anya lives with her mother, a Russian immigrant, and her brother. She's considered an outcast by most in the private school she attends. So much so, that no one really notices when she goes missing for two days.

Anya fell down a well where she met the ghost of Emily. Emily had fallen down the well 90 years ago.

Once Anya is rescued, Emily follows her out of the well. Emily's ghost can only go where her bones are. Anya makes a necklace with Emily's bone and together they help Anya with her life. In return, Anya promises to find out who killed Emily.

Anya discovers that Emily wasn't murdered at all. She killed a young man and his girlfriend because she wanted him. Anya must find away to escape Emily's grasp.

Mac runs a business. You need help. You see Mac. You can find him in the fourth stall from the high window.

Mac and his business partners can provide protection in return for monetary donations and/or favors. They are saving up for World Series tickets. They are sure their team, the Cubs, are going to make it this year.

Business has been going well until recently. A third grader arrives at Mac's office wanting protection from Staples, the high school crime boss. He's running a gambling ring that involves several other students who want out.

Can Mac and his partners help out with out losing everything themselves?

Jimi Hendrix began playing a ukulele with one string and listening to Elvis, Chuck Berry and B.B. King.

He practiced his guitar moves to the tunes of Elvis with a broom.

His first guitar was bought from the landlord's son for $5.00. Eventually, his father bought him an electric guitar. With it, Jimi learned to adjust the strings and knobs to make different sounds.

I Will Catch Up

The few followers I have may have noticed that I'm a kit behind on my quest to read a book a day. I promise that I will catch up!

There are 18 days left of school! Even better, the school district that my daughter attends has to go 5 days longer. I'll have an entire week of sleeping late and having the house to myself. Plenty of time to catch up.

I have reasons to my being behind on my reading.

One -- Baseball season is in full swing. I am an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan which is a difficult thing when you live in Texas. I love it when they play Houston because they are on FoxSW (The additional Fox Sports Channel we get. Yes, I've tried to get FoxSM. Somehow, we can put a satellite up in space, but I can't get a sports station out of area. YES! I'm bitter!) My husband bought me MLBtv. So, my evenings are spent watching baseball.

Yes, I could read while the game is on in the background...but that leads me to reason...

Two -- Angry Birds. That pretty much says it all.

Yes, I play Angry Birds while watching the St. Louis Cardinals.

Again, I promise that I will catch up. No more excuses!

Joy's boyfriend Zan just up and left Haven for California and a life away from Joy. She has a hard time accepting his departure. Especially now that his friend Noah seems to be stalking her.

Joy comes up with the brilliant plan to go find Zan in California so she can have closure on their relationship. Her only problem is finding someone to drive her. Noah is her choice because she saw it in her dream.

Joy and Noah head off on a journey of self discovery which might include a trip to the Vegas Strip.
